2016 STEM Expo a Huge Success
There was a steady stream of excited kids and families at the 4th annual "Mad Science" STEM Expo on Feb. 11, 2016. Over 2,500 attendees showed up, making this the biggest Expo yet! The 55+ exhibitors provided fun, hands-on activities that were engaging for all ages. Parents and teachers throughout the district reported their kids had so much fun seeing, touching, hearing, and tasting so many great examples of how science is an integral part of our lives!
Chris Beals, ESD Director of Instructional Technology & Assessment summed up the event's success by saying; “It inspires me to see our students so engaged, interested, actively involved, and so full of wonder. We're really appreciative for all that the Enumclaw Schools Foundation does for our district, and ultimately, our students!”
EHS students staffed exhibits and showed younger students that they can get involved in science related classes and clubs when they get to high school.
Businesses provided a wide range of activities for student to try that gave students a glimpse at the work the business does - like building airplanes and making donuts!
Nonprofits, government agencies and colleges were also exhibitors, showing how they use science in their areas of expertise.
We are grateful to the sponsors who made it possible to provide this event FREE for the attendees and the exhibitors -- Thank You!
